Endodontist & Clinical Director
Dr. George Shinn received his dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1974. He is a highly skilled Endodontist with over 45 years of experience in dental pulp disease treatments- from root canal therapy to apicoectomies. He started his undergrad pursuit at the University of Southern California (USC) and became one of the first African-American to graduate UCLA School of Dentistry.
Dr. Shinn is active in the community, volunteering at The Children’s Dental Center, a non-profit dental organization, providing quality endodontic services to the underserved population. Dr. Shinn also serves on the California Dental Board Diversion Evaluation Program as a committee member for impaired health professionals. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UCLA, Dr. Shinn obtained his Endodontics Certificate from the University of Iowa School of Dentistry in 1977, making him the first African-American graduate student to graduate from the Advanced Endodontics Specialty Program. Impressively, Dr. Shinn obtained credentials from the Central Regional Board Examination, covering 10 states. Dr. Shinn is a member of the following professional organizations:
Dr. Shinn is dedicated to providing quality patient care using state of the art equipment and techniques. He believes in strong communication and teamwork with patients and their general dentists to ensure optimal care. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time mentoring, volunteering and salsa dancing.
